Dr. Huyghe heeft het eerste artikel in Europa gepubliceerd waarin een nieuwe techniek voor staaroperatie onder druppelverdoving werd beschreven bij een grote groep patiënten.
Sindsdien is deze methode nog steeds de standaardprocedure voor staaroperaties.
